From the moment I arrived at the stunning Fairbank Barn, tucked away in the heart of the Lake District countryside, I knew this wedding was going to be something special. As a wedding videographer, venues like Fairbank Barn are an absolute dream to work at thanks to the incredible natural light, panoramic views, and relaxed atmosphere throughout the day. It was my first time visiting the venue and honestly, I was blown away. With panoramic views across the hills, rolling countryside in every direction, and the most peaceful atmosphere imaginable, it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for Kirstie & Phil to celebrate with their family and friends.
Of course, being in the Lake District, the weather kept us all on our toes for most of the morning. Rain clouds drifted in and out, forecasts changed by the minute, and there was definitely a feeling of anticipation building throughout the morning preparations. But one thing everybody knew was just how important it was for Kirstie to have an outdoor ceremony with those breathtaking Lakeland hills as the backdrop.
As the ceremony time approached, everyone gathered outside while we all watched the skies and hoped for the best. Then, literally minutes before the ceremony was due to begin, the decision was made , we were going for it.
And honestly? It couldn’t have worked out more perfectly.
The atmosphere throughout the ceremony was incredible. Outdoor wedding ceremonies in the Lake District always feel extra special, and this one was no exception. You could feel the emotion, excitement, and relief all at once. Surrounded by the stunning scenery of Fairbank Barn, Kirstie & Phil exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends, with the Lake District landscape creating one of the most beautiful ceremony backdrops imaginable.
The rest of the day flowed effortlessly from there. From the drinks reception overlooking the hills to the evening celebrations inside the barn, every part of the wedding felt relaxed, stylish, and full of genuine emotion. Guests relaxed outside enjoying the views, laughter filled every corner of the venue, and the energy throughout the entire day was just unreal. These are the weddings that remind me exactly why I love doing what I do at Stephen Whitehead Weddings.
One of the best parts of any wedding day is seeing so many talented suppliers come together to create something unforgettable, and this wedding was the perfect example of that.

Another massive shoutout goes to Franchesqua, who kept guests entertained throughout the day and evening with the most incredible live vocals and atmosphere. Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she was also an absolute dream to work with from start to finish.
The styling and details throughout the wedding were equally stunning. From the beautiful hair and makeup to the florals, décor, cake, and finishing touches, every supplier played a huge part in bringing Kirstie & Phil’s vision to life.
It’s always amazing seeing a couple put together a team of suppliers who genuinely care about creating an unforgettable experience, and every single person involved helped make the day feel relaxed, personal, and full of joy, which always makes a huge difference when capturing a wedding film.
To Kirstie & Phil , thank you so much for allowing me to be part of such an important chapter in your lives. Your wedding was full of love, laughter, emotion, and incredible memories from beginning to end. It was truly one of those days that reminds everyone why weddings are so special.
